I wonder who the ADQ are stealing more votes from, the PQ or the Liberals.

They are grabbing vote from PQ. (the last poll, was higher for PQ and lower for ADQ).

Mario Dumont is doing the election like Stephen Harper.

Charest's first sign of weakness - he's already arguing on "chèques de pension".

Yeah, who wants free money from the federal government anyway?

You do realize that blocking transfer payments before a declaration of independence, while Quebec would still be paying taxes, is, well, an acknowledgement of sovereignty?

BTW - the RRQ is well-funded enough, don't worry.

Doesn't Quebec get more money than it pays in? Is there really any way you can not call the surplus free money?

Quebec is getting 5,3B$ for the fiscal year, quite an hefty sum, granted. Most estimates show that around 2,5B$ could be saved thanks to reduced overhead with federal bureaucracy. The rest, we'd have to kiss goodbye.

The irony is that Albertan chickenhawks constantly depict separatists as crybabies who want to live on others' money, while in reality it's the federalists that invoke equalization payments as an argument for staying within Canada.

Well, there's plenty wrong with Albertans

My biggest problem with the separatists is the economic impact of the threat of separatism. My family lost considerable amounts of money in the late 90s as a result of falling property prices.

So the Cretien choke guy is running as a separtist in HULL.

Would that area ever go separtist given how many people there work for the federal government? Wouldn't that riding be just like the anglo ridings as being 'no-hopers" for anyone with a separtist label

He's running for Solidarite right? So no matter where he runs, he has no chance.
