I think most of those are just like hobbies for people. I wouldn't say worthless, but in sense of higher learning and science? Throw them in the garbage!

Antropology, I consider myself being an antropologist. What is I, what is me, is there a difference, what say you, who are you, what do you do, what does that make you? My name is Bobby, or is it? Yeah, definitely, this is my field but on my spare time.

Philosophy? Sure. Read a book. Think about it. Then go home to please yourself.

Sociology? I guess.. I guess it has some worth, you can do studies and stuff.

Political science? Kill yourselves, the whole lot of you.

Technically, anthropologists can dig up stuff from ancient peoples, so they're not totally useless.

They do have the advantage of utilizing that often forgotten medium of communication known as writing. It depresses me sometimes when my engineering friends don't know how to format a letter, or wrote a mission statement, or basically can't coherently state an idea because they never had to write a term paper.

I realize this is not all technical majors, but unfortunetly a very large number of them become simple number crunches without any critical thought ability.

Useless jobs dont get paid that much because it helps no one. Since it helps no one, there is no demand for it. If there is no demande then you dont get paid much.

If you want to do science, you need to do science. And one of the corner stones fo science IS critical thinking ability. You don't need that doing artsy novels. Which ones cure illnesses, comes up with new technical solutions making our lives easier?

I could as well feed my head and take LSD if I want to be entertained and do some tripping. Who can manufacture that? Science.
