If by "odd troll" you mean any and every opportunity to be a partisan hack I suppose you got me. Heck you couldn't even bring yourself to be respectable once Prez Ford passed.

            Why all the pseudonyms??

This ballot is more confusing that the 2000 Presidential ballot in Florida.

Setting that aside... dude, the whole point of the "center" is that it's MODERATE.

              It's like saying "I'm a radical moderate!"

What the **** is going on? War is Peace, Freedom is Slavery and Radical is Moderate?

I can't vouch for the other articles on that web site but I found the description of the "radical center" to be fairly good though I agree that the term "radical center" isn't the best monicker. They're attempting to convey that their centrists who are radically rethinking or at least originally thinking of new ways to express what it means to be a moderate or centrist.

You have to crawl into the mind of TCO. A stiff drink helps.

Indeed I was when it though the discussion turned to the effects of Ford giving a blanket pardon of Nixon before the investigation was even completed. I stand by that pardoning before you even know what you're pardoning a man for isn't a good idea. Further more, I do believe that it would be better for the country to prove that no one is above the law and that even if a President breaks the law that he will still do the time.

It's just not convincing that a Republican Nixon appointee's pardoning of Nixon was supposed to build "bipartisanship".

Actually the thread turned from death of Ford to all things Nixon pardoning pretty much as a result of your post. (Aside from a passing mention in the article.) So pardon me if I don't buy the "I was simply responding to the Nixon pardon meme" allready present in the thread.

In other words the thread topic had not turned to the subject but for your post starting the discussion.

Plus you had that ohh so nice to signify your take on Ford. Nice touch.

now, now. I used to vote republican, and even I don't like Ford. I won't even go into how bad a president he was.

Good for you. Restraint is sometimes good for the soul. It says something about a person if they can refrain from talking ill about the newly dead. (especially if they aren't a big fan)

I generally don't speak ill of the dead. I don't know the man personally. Maybe he was a good father (actually I have no idea if he had kids).

But it does make me wonder. Why is it necessary to be nice only when someone dies. Wouldn't it have been better to treated someone nicer when they are alive. Yes I know it's really only for the grieving relatives. But since they aren't here to read this forum (I think), I really don't get too upset at people badmouthing the recently dead. People are doing the same to Saddam Hussein. Who knows, maybe Saddam was a good father.
