McDonald's absurd claims we just that claims made by one company. The EU's absurd claims are lactual laws passed by the government. You honestly can't figure out the difference between the two?

Champagne isn't an EU law, it's a seperate international agreement, IIRC. And that isn't common English usage at all. Even in many parts of the US sparkling wine is a common term that people use for sparkling non-champagne. All the bottles have sparkling wine on them.

I mean, it's common English usage in the same way that the belief that George Bush is the worst president in the twentieth century is a common belief. It's still wrong.

Even in California, if something is called Champagne and comes from California it's broken laws that aren't EU set and that the US did sign.

Can't we just ban Oerdin every time he starts up about this?

Anyway, I had Sekt for the new year

Not misleading the public by passing off one thing as another

If I order Coke, I want Coke. If I order Champagne, I want Champagne. In the end, the consumer's the one who loses, as they don't get what they ordered.

The fact that Oerdin recurrently can't spell words with 'ei' in them, like deceive, is more deserving of banning.

Anyway, to throw us back on topic, I celebrated at a couple of houseparties around London, which was quite cool. And then some *amazing* Champagne I wanted an excuse to drink - Canard Duchene's Centenary Grand Cuvee. It's sillily amazing.

Had the mother of hangovers today, still pretty dizzy and lightheaded almost 24 hours later

                  My personal favourite is cellotape.

That said, in pubs when ordering a coke and something you sometimes get asked "Is Pepsi ok?". My response invariably being along the lines of "Do I look like I give a hoot?".

I usually order "cola". Nobody has yet asked me to specify what brand.

Xerox was photo copying for a long time, even if the brand being used was another.
