Nowadays, I carry around $30 or $40. Enough for a cab and other transactions that don't easily accept credit cards. Becoming fewer of those, however. Doubles for mug money, if push comes to shove.

        I never carry coins.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Normally less that £5 in coins and my debit card.
Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.
              -Richard Dawkins

Anything from $0 to $60. In my country, most people don't use much cash, we do have these little plastic penis extenders.

I carried the equivalent of 3k Euro in my pocket this morning on my way to the bank. This is extremely rare of course.

I usually cary less than 50 Euro in cash plus cards in my wallet.

I usually have around 10-20$ in cash, 60% of my purchases are paid by using Visa, much quicker than paying cash, and makes it easier to see how much you've spent later

$20-$30 most of the time, for vending machines, the canteen at work, and the Chinese place down the street (all of which are cash-only).

$100-160 when traveling ($100 when I'm traveling alone, $160 if my idiot co-worker who never carries cash is traveling with me)

And I can tell you that on that day my hand was in my pocket on the cash the entire time.
