    A couple of local landmarks:

    -the music hall

    -the prefecture building

Those are reachable in a couple of minutes on foot. However if i take the bus i can be here, in around 15 min:

Literally, 2 minutes, at a normal pace? Nothing but other houses - hey this is suburbia (sort of) and theres a big hill in the way. Add another minute or two though, at a slightly faster clip and youve got

A certified Halal (IIRC) Afghan restaurant.
      A Korean bakery/coffee shop.
      A Japanese/Korean sushi/steak place.
A store that sells gifts and knicknacks based on Korean/Japanese teenage pop culture -POTM loves it, I call it "the Hello Kitty store"
A korean store that sells some specialized sauna fixtures, POTM wanted to browse, they looked at us funny and we left.
      A Korean Christian bookstore
At least one other Korean restaurant
      A Popeyes fried chicken place.

Turn the other direction at the main drag, and theres a public library.

Theres a busstop served both by local buses, and by express buses to the Pentagon.

        A creek
        My neighbors
        A ton of trees
3 Squirrels that I know of, since my dog has waged war on them
        My mailbox
        A little lake

        ... that's about it

If you extended it to 10 minute walk!

        Another little lake
        More houses
        A lot more trees
and probably a few more squirrels, a racoon, and a few white tail deer
        Monkey!!!

Hmm, having just moved, time to update this...

Within a two minute walk of my house is...

          The road.
          Our mailbox.
          A few neighbors.
          The forest.

Given ten minutes... some more houses and forest. Maybe - MAYBE - the town offices (1 mile). But I think you'd at least have to jog to make it there in 10 minutes.

            Within two minutes' walk?

            - plenty of apartment buildings
            - a miniature park with a statue
            - a neighbourhood centre
            - a convenience store
            - a pizzeria
            - a hairdresser
            - a copyshop/video rental
            - a tobacconist's
            - a church
            - a library
            - a bus stop (if I walk fast)
Why can't you be a non-conformist just like everybody else?

In fairness, shes never bought any of the (abundant) hello kitty merchandise, mostly just origami stuff.

I'm pretty sure I know [generally] where you live now

I used to drive past a lot of that stuff on the way to school.

I don't think this thread was meant literally. I listed the things that are within short distance. Although mentioning Charlton and Millwall training grounds would make it very easy to place where I live, although not my precise location

                            • Interesting thread, I missed it the first time. Here's what I found:

                              2 breweries
                              1 lemonade factory
                              1 working homestead (cattle)
                              1 catholic church
                              1 evangelic chapel
                              1 kindergarten
                              3 pubs
                              2 pizzerias
1 souvenir shop of a sport club (sort of, never been inside, could as well be the Mafia)
                              1 public library
                              1 bakery/café
1 catalog showroom with integrated post office
                              1 stationery store
                              1 fashion store
                              1 jeans store (Levi's)
                              1 driving school
                              1 bike/moped store
                              1 flower store
1 country house of the former nobility (today a hotel)
several small hotel businesses (only 1-5 rooms for rent)
1 museum (birth house of a very popular later American inventor and businessman)
