Maybe the great studs that Asher keeps talking about should take up a real sport.
It's only a second rate sport in second rate countries with second rate people who can't keep up with the game.

Hockey is the ultimate sport: team work, speed, grit, talent, strength, endurance. The only reason it's not the most popular sport worldwide is it's hard to play the sport in many climates, and it's expensive to partake in as well.

It is, by and large, the elite sport.

Simpletons play football, basketball, soccer, whatever...

It is therefore not surprising that Americans, being simpletons, do not comprehend the greatness of hockey. Instead, they prefer such fast games as Baseball, Golf, and Football. Whatever, slower minds prefer slower sports.

Not in places where people cared about the sport to begin with. Attendance in Canadian cities is up, up, up.

Honestly, most people from real hockey towns wish that the NHL would give up on its southern experiment and get back to playing in cities where they're guaranteed a fan base instead of trying to please a bunch of fair weather fans who don't give a **** aobut the game, and wouldn't understand it even if they did.

And why is it surprising that beach volleyball does well in the US?

Americans are collectively so dumb their idea of sport is either men in spandex (latent homosexuality) or women in bikinis (usually to offset their guilt from enjoying men in spandex).

WWE, beach volleyball, etc...all are more popular than hockey in the USA. This is not a condemnation for hockey, it's a condemnation for Americans.

                you're right Asher

American's need a sport where we put women in spandex and make them jump up and down and sweat.

You must consider mass as well. Although, in this case, the difference in speed would likely overpower any difference in weight (100 lbs difference in weight is about 3 lbs mass if I remember physics right... while 30 miles versus 5 (if those are the right numbers) is going to definitly result in a bigger difference in velocity, meaning hockey players will hit with a higher momentum)

Then again, we also probably have to consider WHERE the hits occur. From my limited experience of watching hockey games, hockey players aren't likely to receive a knee to the chest region, or other type things.

I don't doubt that either way, it's gonna hurt for the average person to be hit.

Nahhhh... it's just proof that Hockey is a third rate sport.
The fact that it's Canadian's "game' is no surprise... third rate fans for a third rate sport.

                          Weak, Ming.

The US has no concept of being strong fans. Hockey in Canada is far more of our culture than Football or Baseball in American culture.

We're bigger fans. We're better people.

Bring back hockey to the people smart enough to enjoy it.

The fact that you are fans of hockey pretty much sums up how inferior you are... and doesn't say much for the people.

It's just a game for people who really don't know what a real sport is..

                            Truly a third rate sport...

                            • We tried to make it accessible to the average American and as popular as, say, NASCAR, but the league felt that mandatory inbreeding and doing nothing but skating in a circle for four hours was just too much to ask of the players.
