Would NFL players still be hilarious obese if they played more?

That's a college player, if not high school, and one that isn't going to the next level in any event.
Judging by the stadium in the background, I'm guessing high school.

Oh wow, an exception. Your point is totally proven!!!!

Why would the players agree to play more? They're already getting insane salaries and I don't see that going up if they play more.
Um, as of when do players decide how often a league plays? They'd get paid more (certainly not 2x, but undoubtedly more) and, well, have you seen the NFL labor contract? It's not exactly player friendly - so I have no doubt they could increase the games if it were practical.
My whole point is they can't play more than once a week. Look at them. They're not built for endurance, many of them carry lots of fat as well. They're essentially part-time athletes.
I don't accept the argument that it's the game. I see hockey players take much harder hits than in football, they get up and keep playing and play again the next night too.
Hell, look at the knee-on-knee hit on Ryan Smyth the other day. It looked brutal, but 2 days later he was playing very well again.
NFL players take hits like that EVERY PLAY. Knee on knee is nothing. They get up and keep playing. They only leave the field for a concussion, a torn ligament, or something that causes them temporary disability (solar plexus) - and in those cases they come right back. Most players don't even leave the field for that sort of injury.
NFL players are not built for aerobic endurance, except for those that are - WRs, CBs, LBs, SS/FS, RBs, some TEs. That's what, 11 out of the 22 spots on a starting lineup? Those players all have incredible aerobic endurance. Perhaps not a hockey player's in all cases, but a WR/CB certainly do; they sprint every play on their side of the ball, all game.
Your hits in hockey look harder because they're at higher speed. NFL players take more BRUTAL punishment, more frequently. They're thrown to the ground (and it's a fairly hard ground, maybe not QUITE ice but close; they couldn't run as well on soft turf... and that's not counting Field Turf which is very hard) every play, and the bruising and beating their bodies take, takes a long time to recover from. It's a lot easier to run fast for 60 minutes then do it again in a day or two than to be physically bruised and beaten.

Yes, clearly your exception which was an unprofessional player was far more useful than my professional player who looks like most others of his position

So why is it that 250lbs hockey players don't look fat at all, but 250lbs football players do?
Try to find a picture of a fat 250 pound NFL player. You can't.
There are some fat guys, but those guys are in the 320-370 pound range. 250 pounders play linebacker, tight end,or maybe defensive end, and they're not fat. To say that all (or even most) of them are fat is as stupid as relying on BMI to judge a professional athlete's health.

Knee on knee in football is nothing, I agree.

They are much harder at high speed. Basic physics.
What hurts more, two cars hitting eachother at 5mph or two cars hitting eachother at 30 mph?

The simple fact is, when you look at a football team you see a LOT of fat bellys.
I don't care WHAT your excuses are, you're not in great shape with a belly.
Is it any wonder that these players can't play more than once a week? Weak!

Need to get more info if you are going to troll. The NFLPA is toothless.

You don't know jack about NFL player relations. First off, playing once a week is something that was initiated when the NFL was initiated, before player associations or the like. Second, the NFL has the weakest players' association of the major sports, with the NFL commissioner having the greatest power of any major sport commissioner, and the players having the worst salary arrangement of any major sport. They don't mind, of course, since there's plenty of money anyway, and the NFL commissioner doesn't abuse his power; but the NFLPA doesn't even wield the power the NHLPA does, and that's pathetic.

It's different KINDS of hits. If hockey players had 30 mph collisions 40-50 times a game, they'd play once a week or less... speed collisions are short term harder, long term less damaging than the bruising NFL players take.
I've fed the troll enough ... anyone else want to join in?

What can I say, football players are pussies, I guess it makes sense that their NFLPA is a bunch of pussies as well.

If they're short term harder, how come 99% of the time the player bounces right up as if nothing happened?

That's ok Asher; I know you have an inferiority complex. Just because NFL players are far stronger and powerful and manly than hockey players is no reason to be jealous of the entire league.
