Rose bowl will be USC and either UM or LSU, depending on if UM goes to the national championship. UM will certainly play in the Rose Bowl if not at the national championship.

UM-OSU at a neutral site Though I wouldn't mind a rose bowl versus USC. Beating USC would solidify UM as a solid #2.

Under my system, there would only be 4 qualified teams (conference champs or independants with no more than 1 loss): OSU, Florida, Louisville, Boise State.

Semis of OSU-BSU, UF-UL, then the championship. Settle it on the field.



That said, I still think Michigan is the second best team in the country, and ultimately the Michigan-Florida debate will be for naught; Ohio State will not be beaten.

I don't see how Louisville can get shut out of all these discussions, frankly. Their only loss was on a last-minute FG on the road against a very good team; I think their claim to play OSU is no less valid than the claims of Michigan and Florida.



And here's a thought, since everyone is calling this as Michigan or Florida; have them play in the Rose Bowl, and the winner gets OSU a week later in Glendale. Too simple by far, I know...

FWIW (which ain't much), according to Vegas, Michigan would be a 6 point favorite over Florida on a neutral field.


Frankly, I think Michigan is the only team that keeps it within single digits of OSU. Troy Smith is just too good.

It would be frigging anti-climactic if OSU just beats UM again or even trounces them. (Although very juicy if UM won.) Based on that, let someone else have a shot. UM controlled their destiny and didn't get it done. No more Wolverine whines.

If Michigan ends up #2, I propose that we don't even play the NC game, since OSU has already proven themselves against Michigan.
