    Need help with Civ 2 patch

    A walk down memory lane for at least some of you

    I've been trying to install the multiplayer patch. When I try and run the patch, install shield says it can't find a copy of the game on my machine.

    Any work-around for this???

    Getting very frustrated

    Maybe installing the game before you try to install the patch might be a solution

      the wierd part is installshield installs the game but won't run the patch, says it can't find the game

        Could it be some problem with the language version?
        (for example that multiplayer recognizes the english language version of the game, but no other laguage versions)
        These are often sources for errors with patches.

          seems not, says it can't find a copy of the game - even though it is in the game folder

            Try buying the game rather than downloading it.

              Reinstall the game. It takes less time for that than screwing around with it.

                reinstalled several times, its the patch won't unbundle

                          Try this. Manually opening all the zip folders should allow you to update your civ version. Make sure you unzip to the same folder as your civ2 files so that the patch can overwrite them.

                              at last some intelligent advice

                              what about disabling installshield - the trouble with the patch is its not a zip
