All teams have "things in common" but you are reaching so much in trying to criticize Calgary .. . comments like this one go beyond silly.

    • Oh and I attended the Calgary-Detroit game last night and it was an EXCELLENT Calgary effort. The took the play to them friom the outset and the only spark Detroit showed was AFTER Calgary led 4-0 (Detroit spoiled Kippers shutout bid in the last minute with a PP goal)

I keep saying that you can't judge much of anything by a single game but the Flames have now one 6 in a row.
Tanguay is passing really well and the 2nd line was really hopping last night. I still think they could do with a bit more scoring though

        • So I guess Calgary's 6th straight win last night over the "bottom feeding team" of Detroit and Toronto's loss to the "elite team" of Boston shows that Tingkai was totally right -- the Flames style of play totally doesn't work. They should emulate the Leafs.

              I don't recall addressing you.

You might do well to follow your own advice.

The Flames, and Kipper, are on a roll and have looked very good 2 games in a row. Getting 4 against Detroit is no small feat. Anaheim and SJ are the only teams to do the same or more (4 and 5 in back to back games on a road trip).

Don't be so obtuse, you know as well as everyone else here what your post was referencing. I also know why you decided to reference it out of the blue.

I would very much appreciate it, as I think most people here would, if you would please stop trying to rekindle a flamefest by:
                  1) Making personal attacks
                  2) Making references to situations that you knew resulted in personal attacks that everyone is sick of hearing about

You're not being as manipulative as you think you are. I see what you're trying to do, and I'm not biting, but it's getting very, very annoying. I'm not going to have another flamewar with you, have the mods do nothing, then quit the league. I'm staying in to the end, and I'm going to kick your ass -- in the league. Get used to it.

And that's very reflective of rosters between those teams. Whether you like the franchises themselves or not, Anaheim, Calgary, San Jose & Nashville have THE most stacked levels of talent in the Western conference.

Dare say it, even Phoenix could flex their muscle under new coaching and prove within the same bracket (or at least nip at the heels of Minnesota & Detroit). And if Calgary wins decisivly against Edmonton this Tuesday - Playfair's slightly less gritty, more forward-centric system will have proven a template for success. Far earlier than Sutter's N.W. division winning comparison of the past season.

Young franchises. All hungry to establish themselves as Edmonton proved a young franchise could in the 80's. And here we have an arrogant who's barely shed his own cultural baggage mimmicking the WORST ignorance of the inferiority threatened Leaf/Canuck fan attitude.

The Flames are just now moving faster and passing swifter than Sutter's hit-obsessive system would ever allow. Watch out.

According to SCORE they have, Dave - but I think as logical fans we owe it to step back and admit that Calgary's hockey vs. both Anaheim and Vancouver was a stunted version that won't cut it in the playoffs. Though I do love how the Canucks confirmed their team as the ultimate "cling to a goalie" roster, on Saturday. If Luongo sh*ts the bed, Vancouver's game is now OVER, and that's the only crutch their hatred-hardwired fans had against Calgary the last few seasons. They've become less than what they use as insult

To BARELY squeak by this year's Vancouver, last minute - is hilarious, slightly rewarding, yet not "very good hockey". We can, and will - do much better as the season progresses.
