Nothing to be sorry about. If I do this, I am going to do so by choice. It's because my current position ( a low ranking officer with 0 enlisted staff, in a malfunctioning military organization) is really depressing, and I have this terrible feeling I am not really doing my duty.Originally posted by Wittlich
Ouch! Sorry to hear that Az.

Actually, that wasn't intended as a dig at Apocalypse, but rather at the "pray you don't get sent to x" brigade. I have every respect for armed forces, but most of them choose to enlist. They know the advantages and they know the risks. No prayers needed.Originally posted by SlowwHand

You stay where you are. Terrorists make house calls.
Obviously for our Israeli posters the reality is somewhat different. Personally I find conscription abhorrent but I suspect it is a produce of circumstance in that part of the world...Visit the Vote UK Discussion Forum!

Before I read the thread, I thought this would be about some sort of marriage proposal, up to and including the 7-year-itch that leads to a messy, unpleasant divorce and children who cut themselves like emo grass.

Hopefully, you'll get a branch that you like.B♭3

The "No prayers needed",sort of lost me.
I don't know if you know it, but bullets aren't real particular on hitting enlisted or conscripted.
I'll quit giving you a hard time now.Last edited by SlowwHand; November 1, 2006, 18:29.Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

You could choose to sign up to special forces, or you could do your best to avoid combat units, via low motivation, making trouble and what not. Of course you could develop extra skills and get a desk job.
IDF apparently now even has an "army magician".
If that isn't the biggest proof of favoritism and family ties in the army, then I don't know what is.
Though not pleasant, there is nothing too bad about going to military prison, and if you make yourself unworth for the army to keep, they won't.
