Well to be fair Winston I draw the line at criticizing Fox, as I would expect anyone with a terminal illness to do everything possible to help themselves. That doesn't mean I hold the Democratic party in the same esteem as the ad is disingenuous. First things first. Fox should have kept his dirty mouth shut. Second of all, all issues are political issues, ALL OF THEM. Every action in its core is political, and what ever you do, you show bias. And if that bias is shown towards a side that does not do anything but whine, support drugs, satan and terrorists and overall librul ideals, .. what I'm saying is, Fox shoudl have kept his mouth shut.
Fox, by association, is going against Jesus, prosperity and democracy.. not forgetting family values.
He is USING his status to get focus on this issue of illness, that will undoubtetly lead to a political question. Like I said, ALL questions are political questions.
We don't have scientifical questions at all. If we want to cure AIDS, the homo illness, it's a political questions. We never want to cure it. And if we do, those scientists were partisan hacks, who prolly supported the librul campagns and got their asses stuck full of dirty drug money.
If you want to cure Parkinsons, what the **** does it matter if someone is parading or not? Republican party does not want prioritize this illness but it gets stomped by the party policitcs and the jesus vote - this is a FACT.
So what if a person with this illness thinks that it is a priority for him at least? He wants to get a cure even if it means some librul nation haters get some power. Exactly what is wrong in that?
The law of karma woudl see you parading with Parkinsons as well, hopefully no one blames you for putting an act of politics out there.
THere's more sides to a coin than one.In da butt.

These rants are superb. Makes me miss Ted Stiker in an odd sort of non-manlove strictly heterosexual (not there is anything wrong with Homos) kind of way."Just puttin on the foil" - Jeff Hanson

Well I just think it's pathetic to spin these kinds of issues the way they are spun.In da butt.

[q=Ogie Oglethorpe]The point being that only Dems favor this is the problem that coupled with Dems painting the picture as they are the only party supporting Fox's appeals is not correct or accurate. [/q]
But Fox ISN'T saying vote for Democrats. He's saying vote for this PARTICULAR Democrat who is for embryonic stem cell research while the opponent is not. He said nothing about the individual parties. And while there weren't enough votes to overturn the veto, having more supporters of embyronic stem cell research allows for a greater chance to overturn such a veto.“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Plus the add is being run in multiple races giving the impression this is a party wide platform issue, not a specific candidate issue.Last edited by Ogie Oglethorpe; October 27, 2006, 12:18."Just puttin on the foil" - Jeff Hanson

I believe I've stopped just short of criticizing Michael J. Fox's personal decision to do these commercials. Thinking about it now in that light, it's certainly the way I would like for my point to have come across - opposing the practice, but not issuing condemnation of the individual patients who engage in it and their personal reasons for doing so, which would be all too understandable.
Kind of complicated.. I hope the above makes sense.

Was it really so shocking? That a guy with parkinson shakes back and forth? I actually was surprised about the whole controversy since I read about it before, then saw the ad much later on tv. I expected something totally different since I read that some thought it's "shocking".
But then I saw a guy who did just that - shaking back and forth as a result of his illness. I've seen people with much worse symptoms both on tv and in real life (to be honest, yes, in some cases I felt indeed uncomfortable). I don't understand what's so outrageous in a display of a human suffering from this illness.Blah
