dannubis, true to form. You've never let us down.

I suppose people who approve of this move will have no objection to seeing terminally ill people pleading for help every time health debate issues are at the center of an election?

Aids patients with tears running down their cheeks appearing in messages "approved of by your local candidate"?

Corpses propped up to show the consequences of the opposing candidates failed programs?

This is an attempt at emotional blackmail (regardless of whether or not he was overdoing it), and in my opinion it is unworthy of anyone, be they patients, politicians or voters.

Putting himself on display in this way in order to appeal solely to people's emotions on what is otherwise a political issue with ethical entanglements, it's the most fitting term I can think of.

What has appealing to emotions (from a guy who's not a politician btw) to do with porn?

You're asking the same question twice. I've given my answer already. I can't think of a better term for his appearance in this campaign ad.

It's a trend that I would hope doesn't take root and spread further into the arena of politics and ethics. Those issues should be decided on by the power of one's arguments, not by prying into the heartbreaking medical condition of celebrities who forgot to take their pills.

You said it's the fitting term, but unfortunately you're unable to explain why and what the relation is between "appealing to emotion" and porn - therefore I asked again.

So far you're only using the mighty "because I say so" tactics, which is not very convincing.

Fine, then you don't have a prob with me saying your opinion on this matter is rubbish.

My opinion on whether it constituted emotional porn is rubbish? That's what I was referring to when I said I wasn't trying to convince you. It's a matter of personal perception as to how this ad comes across, how can it be rubbish? You perceive differently, and if enough people do, it'll work as intended. But to say that one's individual perception of an emotional plea is rubbish, that's just silly. Rubbish, even.

When you say my opinion that your opinion is rubbish is rubbish itself you're talking rubbish, since my opinion is a result of my personal perception as to how your opinion comes across.

I certainly hope you or your family will be spared from this desease. I doubt you will take it as well as Fox has done.

And in response to your comment:
All I see is a person who tries to help himself and other people that have the same desease as he does. And if the republicans will not do it he tries the democrats. Nothing wrong there. Except your typical jerk reaction.
I have seen a lot from you. But this is an all time low, even for you

Emotional perception, life preferences, individual tastes, can not be labeled right or wrong, rubbish or not rubbish.

Arguing whether they can, however, can.

How dare you to label my perception of your opinion rubbish then?

So wanting political issues to be decided on by rational argument rather than attempted emotional blackmail is just downright despicable?

I would tend to think that it's the other way around, but I don't expect you to share this realisation.

I understand then that you'd label any appeal to emotion in politics emotional porn, from whatever side?
