Unless the pitch is more than a foot out of the strike zone, when you are down to your last out, you try to foul that bad boy and not leave the bat on your shoulder. This is basic. Beltran had a brainfart, but **** happens.

Must be nice to see the world with wacked out Texas colored glasses . Ever since the LDS round, the Tigers have been the story.

And what went wrong is pretty easy, the #1 and #3 pitchers for the Mets went down before the playoffs. Though Perez pitched very well tonight.
I watch Cold Pizza on ESPN2, they always talk about the Mets.

Why do people think the World Series would have more viewers if New York was in it.

Besides the New Yorkers of course.

      • You lost all credibility when you admitted you watched Cold Pizza . The whole point of that show is to be a fluff sports show.

Try watching "Baseball Tonight" or something.

Well, that's basically it. New Yorkers and transplanted New Yorkers who want to see a NY team (though plenty of Yankee fans aren't necessarily fans of the Mets). When the Yankees are in it you also get the Yankee haters who want them to lose because of the payroll and Steinbrenner.

Because New York is the largest TV market in the country. Its a rather obvious answer, no? NY baseball teams have more fans than non-New York teams.

I like to get pissed of at the skinny idiot that does 1st and 10.

Besides there is nothing else on at that time of the morning and it's good for napping.

EDIT: They did say on Cold Pizza this morning that Jason Giambi was having surgery on his wrist in the same building that Corey Lidle flew into last week. Whether he had it there, or not, I don't know.

That is what ESPN News was created for .

With bases empty, maybe. With bases loaded, no.

And reismark, if you don't like it, don't watch it.
If you have to have the Yankess in it to be interested, you're not a baseball fan anyway.

                  • With the bases loaded, of course you do. At the very least, if you aren't sure of the pitch, get the bat head on the ball to push it foul.

                      • If I wasn't maxed on threads allowed, Imran, I'd make a poll on this.

World Series. Game 7. Two outs. Bases loaded. Two strikes.
Would you attempt a chin high bunt, or take the pitch?

The pitcher threw a damned good pitch, ya weiner.

                        • That was right through the middle of the plate as it entered the strike zone. Look at the FoxTrack right after the pitch.

If it was a 'chin high bunt', then by definition the pitch would be out of the strike zone.

                            • Err... no, Slow. He could have gotten the bat on the ball as it was entering the strike zone. You must think that sinkers of any kind are unhittable or something. It was a decent pitch, but nothing special.

                              • Imran, if you hit that pitch once in 100 tries, I'll mop your floors for a year.

Beltran is a damn good hitter, and I know he was standing there thinking, "I am so screwed".
It was a good pitch. Give the pitcher some due credit.
