No Pedro, No El Duque, No Problem . A great defense and some nice offense takes care of the Dodgers.

I'm shocked by that. Yankees fans LOVE Torre. He may not be the greatest of tactical managers, but he knows how to manage a ton of egos of a team stocked with stars. And, because, it wasn't because of managing that the Yanks lost this postseason. Not hitting in the last two games maaaay have done that.

Well, I think Torre was outmanaged this series by Leyland. Look at the offensive output, game by game.
Yankees: 8, 3, 0, 1.
Tigers: 4, 4, 6, 8.
The Tigers got better as the series went along; the Yankees got worse. The Tigers made the necessary adjustments, and played like they NEEDED to win. The Yankees made NO adjustments, and played like they EXPECTED to win.

FIVE people called me last night after the game to talk about the win. Five! What an awesome game.
ARod's quote in the Wash Post this morning:
"Plain and simple, they dominated us. It's not like we lost by one run. They basically kicked our ass."
And Jeter about Bonderman:
"He's a guy you don't want to fall behind because then he starts mixing his pitches up. You try to be aggressive, but he pretty much dominated us today.
That Torre got fired remains a rumor right now, but its very likely true.
I like Torre, since he came on, the Yankees have won 4 WS, 6 Pennants, and 9 Division titles. That is in 11 seasons. Few coaches can make such a claim.
What the Yankees need to do is find a way to get rid of A-Rod, and use that money to get better pitching, since their pitching staff has gotten decimated as of late. They probably don't need to pick up either Sheff or Bernie, as much as I love those guys.

Funny pics. Maybe one day someone will care enough to make such a video when the Tigers lose a playoff series. I doubt it though.
