I'm saying that 16 year olds are not fully developed, and I'd consider a 50 year old having sex with one to be statutory rape. If that's the case, put him away using one of his own laws.

Foley probably did not commit any crimes. And that is immaterial. Scandals have everything to do with appearence. As for bringing up Clinton, funy, but in the end, Clinton remained at 60% approval in the polls. Why should he have quit? The man would have easily been re-elected if he could have run in 2000.

On the other hand, given who backs the republicans, this issue with Foley is terrible news, since it involves that terrible sin, homosexuality.

We're in agreement on that.

edit: If the age of consent was higher than 16 in the area where the 50-year old had sex with said 16-year old, of course...

In any event, there's now evidence that he left a 2003 war funding vote to TM a page while masturbating.

Again, what some people fail to understand is that these messages aren't necessarily between two people in Washington, D.C.. The e-mail that started all of this was to someone in Florida. The one where he was trying to get the kid to meet with him was in San Diego. Local and Federal laws apply, but not D.C. laws in these cases.

Ephebophilia, as most strictly defined, refers only to an attraction, not to actual love relations or sexual activity (although these can be involved). It is used in contrast with pedophilia, which is an attraction to pre-pubescent or pubescent individuals. In more casual usage, however, pedophilia is often used more broadly to describe an attraction to any person younger than the legal age of consent.
