computer virus help please

    computer virus help please

    hey guys
    got a pc here that has a trojan virus on it. It belongs to my ex husband soon to be x wife. i got stuck with it when they decided to seperate but thats not the problem. Its got a virus, and they have seem to have lost the system recoevery discs. Its a compaq presario fairly new. i dont want to wipe out all of the stuff since i dont have the discs. avg isnt working on this, so any ideas

        long story, one made for tv to be out soon., but the sooner u guys help me fix the dam thing then i dont have to deal with her

                  It's a Trojan. Run your antivirus and Ewido in Safe Mode.
                  If that doesn't get it, I have one other thing, but its more complicated.

                      We know it's a trojan but AVG won't clean it for some reason.

                          Does the virus disable your "Shift" key?

                          Do you know the name of the virus? If you anti-virus program doesn't catch it, there are usually virus-specific removal tools that you can use; if you post the name, we can find one for you.
