            • Hurricane Felix is set for a landfall on northern Nicuraguan Border, then on into Honduras,Belize/Guatemala and Mexico.

I dont want this for us in the United States either, its just that these countries mentioned are a very poor area, minimal infrastructure available and even less communication available to people on mountains and hills and valleys, some of the mountain ranges have peaks near 4000 feet and similiar valleys.

Having experienced first hand what it was like post Mitch, my heart really goes out for these folks.

              • El Corpus near Choluteca, elevation 3600 feet IIRC

4WD to get on top of the mountain, roads wash out when an El Gulpe or the Head of water comes rushing down

The Pastor and I at Las Pitas, near El Corpus, very minimal construction practices

Yes, I saw both in the preface comments for Clarke's short story History Lesson (previously titled Expedition to Earth).

The water temps down there are high enough, so whats up?

Oh yeah, Texas had a tropical depression turn into a cat 1 or 2 as it hit.

Lots of wind sheer inhibiting formation of cyclones. Probably another El Nino in the making.
