The Pac-10 officials get another blemish on their record. I was watching the clock, and Washington SHOULD have had 5 seconds left on the clock to run their last play. They should've had time to spike the ball then run one play. It might not have mattered, but it's still a pretty sickening end.Comment

I'm kind of on your side, though; I think Weis is a better coach than Willingham. I just happen to think that Willingham is also a good coach, that he got the hook a little too soon at ND and that Weis is not so much better than Willingham that he is worth his unreal contract.
But try to look at it from ND's perspective. They have an excellent coach who is getting all sorts of overtures from pro teams. They have watched his every move for 8 months. ND knows they'll want to exercise the option for 5 add'l years of his services after the first 5, so why not take him off the table while they can?
They also believe that they have the best football coach in the nation (and they are in a good position to opine on such things), but let's leave that stuff aside for the moment.
