  • I been out, anyone hear how bad UNC Tar Holes thumped University of Miami Hurricanes, I think I read somewhere they would be upset?

Was it by more than 12 points?

    • Later ya'll. I'm off to watch the Huskers. Hopefully my preseason prediction that Iowa State wins this game doesn't come true.

      • The Pac-10 officials get another blemish on their record. I was watching the clock, and Washington SHOULD have had 5 seconds left on the clock to run their last play. They should've had time to spike the ball then run one play. It might not have mattered, but it's still a pretty sickening end.

        • Just saw the end of the UW-USC game... what the **** was that? Just how bad are the Pac-10 officials?

I don't blame you for being skeptical. You're not a Notre Dame or USC fan. You probably haven't followed the program closely. Besides, he was 4-2 when they extended the contract. And next year's team is going to be full of freshman and sophomore starters.

But try to look at it from ND's perspective. They have an excellent coach who is getting all sorts of overtures from pro teams. They have watched his every move for 8 months. ND knows they'll want to exercise the option for 5 add'l years of his services after the first 5, so why not take him off the table while they can?

They also believe that they have the best football coach in the nation (and they are in a good position to opine on such things), but let's leave that stuff aside for the moment.

There's going to be a good game in Baltimore later this month.

                      • We gotta win. We keep coming close. If we beat ND, we will get some props. Or...maybe ND will just lose some.
