And theres transition in ex-confed states as well.
I live in Northern Virginia, and id respectfully say its less southern than Southern Maryland or the Lower Eastern Shore, and hardly more southern than Baltimore or its suburbs.
North East Maryland was a culture shock to many Newark and Wilmington-ites.
Heck they had an active clan group over in North eastern Maryland.
