  • Where to buy affordable copies of designer clothes?

So Yesterday I went out shopping for some clothes I'd wear on a date or clubbing and I found loads of designer clothes which I really liked but which were priced outrageously. Don't get me wrong the fabric, finish, and style of those clothes were great but I refuse to pay $100-$150 for a shirt or $150-$200 for a pair of pants. Especially since most of those clothes were made in China like the cheap ones. If they were bespoke then I might cough up the cash (as I have a few times in the past) but I certainly wouldn't make a habit of it.

So here is my question, does anyone know a website or store where you can find affordable, decent quality knock offs of designer brand clothes? I want the look and feel of the designer clothes but I don't want to pay their 400% mark up just for a bloody label. There simply must be some east Asian companies which make clothes similiar to the designer stuff but which don't have the label or cache so they can't charge the outrageous designer prices. To be clear I want similiar clothes so I can get the look and I'm not looking for fake copies of a designer brand. Let's keep it legal.

Here are two shirts which I thought would be great for clubbing or dancing but I don't fancy the price:

and I thought these pants would look good with a dark colored shirt.

You're too old to go clubbing. At your age what you should look for is dark clothing so you can blend in with your surroundings and be the creepy old guy watching the kids dancing with your hands in your pants.

Thanks, but there are lots of clubs for 30 year olds. I went salsa dancing last night and almost everyone was 25-35.

Spring for a trip to Shanghai, Beijing or Hong Kong.

I saw a TV show this morning, which touted going to "consignment" stores. They receive a lot of new clothing from models, etc., which have never been worn.

You might also try a place like "Out of the Closet," which carries "vintage" i.e. "used" clothing of high quality.

Bluefly.com seems to have a lot of sale priced overstock designer clothes though their selection is rather limited.

Oh you have no idea. My first time to a club when I was 18 I was hit on by not only a creepy old guy, but he was also a tranny.

Basically that will be the next step if I can't find a decent source for my discount designer fashion needs on the internet.

I don't think I'd go to Shanghai or Beijing for clothers, but Hong Kong has been doing it for years.

Plus, you can then hang a left and drop in to see Lancer and Dolores in the Philippines.

Seems to have some good prices and a little better selection. But I didn't see any Armani on the one page I looked at.

Oh, I had never thought about vintage stores. That would be a great way to get a unique look which no one could easily copy. Thanks for the idea.
