I was homeschooled some.. home schooling can be very good, or very bad.. or somewhere in between.
Also, there are left loonies who don't use medicince (I know some), as well as religious loonies who don't use medicine (I know some).

Its not against the law to not immunize ur kids. Though for why they dont do it for the main diseses such as mmr im at loss. When my last kido was born they wanted to give him a shot for chicken pox, i refused cause i knew that the shot wasnt proven to be effective. Then there is the hep b vaccine that you are forced to take which is fine but what some foks dont realize is that with hep b there is a certain amount of folks that will never convert to being imune to it. I my self had to take 3 boosters after the original 3 shot series to become only slightly immune.When you find yourself arguing with an idiot, you might want to rethink who the idiot really is.

I was home schooled, and I don't think I would have traded it for public school experience. I spent less than an hour a day on required studies, and always ranked in the top 10-20% of students in the state. In other words, I had more free time than any kid could dream of, and a much better education then average, at the same time costing the government virtually nothing.Originally posted by mrmitchell

On the other hand, I feel extremely sorry for the fundy homeschoolers I knew, all the downsides of both public and home schooling and none of the upsides...

MMR vaccine is resisted by some because of a risk of autism allegedly associated with the vaccine. CDC has generally stood behind the vaccine as not causally related to autism, but the print and television media have supported a significant public dissemination of false or misleading information on this subject, leading many who do not have the resources or scientific understanding to debunk this myth themselves, to believe it, and therefore withold the vaccine from their children. This is prominent amongst groups least likely to trust the government - ie, libertarians, fundamentalist religions believers, and communists.
Perhaps one should have more respect for others' beliefs before judging them based on prejudice and hate ... unless you have more in common with Mel Gibson than you'd like us to believe?<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
