Something becomes a resolution only once it has been adopted [AKA not vetoed]. Before being adopted, it is a draft -especially since before it is adopted changed could be made to the text.

Though this draft was about Gaza, not Lebanon.

Just having Bolton around as the UN embassador is a veto enough, I'd think.

Wait, you think we're screwed because the U.N. is involved? Are you trying to suggest that the U.N. is more corrupt and more incompetent than Republicans? Particularly this Republican administration?

You're completely delusional, you know that?

I totally read this the wrong way.

As difficult as that seems, yes, the UN manages it.

Kuci, and how is that? Are you trying to be cute again, or do you have any backing up?

Last I checked, US troops didn't own and operate (I won't say don't use) brothels in occupied territories.

edit: not just brothels, but brothels with seriously underage children...

No, we just set up rape camps (Abu Ghraib) where underage boys and underage girls are raped as a way of torturing their older relatives. Similar stories have been coming out of other prisons in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Also, there's the matter of the Northern Mariana Islads (a.k.a. "Saipan"). It is a U.S. territory, so despite being in Asia, they can put "made in the U.S.A." labels on the clothes they manufacture there.

Women from around Asia are lured into the Mariana Islands with promises of being able to emmigrate to America. They pay thousands of dollars, and when they arrive in "America" (Saipan), they are thousands of more dollars in debt and are forced into what amounts to slave labor in the factories to pay back their debts. Of course, as they work, the debts get bigger rather than smaller. That is when they are given the option to work as prostitutes to pay their debts.

For all intents and purposes, these women are not just prostitutes, but sex slaves, and yes, many of them are shockingly underage. When they get pregnant, they are forced to get abortions, because pregnancy would interfere with the money they make for their employers.

Forced underage prostitution, forced abortions. Sounds like a party, doesn't it?

                      It gets better.

The Republican leadership in congress (especially Tom DeLay) have blocked every attempt to put a stop to what's going on in Saipan. Why? Because the people who own those factory/brothels in Saipan give huge amounts of money to the Republican soft money campaign funds. DeLay as gone on record as saying that what's going on in Siapan represents everything that's good about capitalism, Republicans, conservatism, and Christianity.

                      Onward, Christian soldiers!

Kuci, ... so when UN soldiers go to prostitutes and do crimes of that nature abroad, that makes the UN corrupted beyond stuff? Right.. I mean yes, it was sick and twisted, but that hardly makes UN corrupted. Not more than say.. churches around the world.
