After accusing these two scientists of being corrupt, he cited peer reviewed research as his rebuttal. But there is none that I know of, where's the paper that claims ice shelf calving is evidence of global warming? In fact, its either damn ignorant or downright dishonest to show calving as evidence of global warming. The same process created Cape Cod during the last ice advance. Did Gore write the movie script without help from experts?

What about the the commission Bush himself assembled to study global warming concluding that Global Warming is real and human caused?

Was it human caused ~180 years ago? How about 1,000 years ago? 9,000 years ago? 110,000 years ago? To say it is "human caused" is to ignore we're just ants on this rock flying threw space. I hope we can influence climate, but wouldn't it be ironic if our pollution inhibits the growth of ice sheets in the future? Because the paleo-climate record says the ice will return...

BTW, Max Mayfield has retracted his previous statement that global warming is not causing the marked increase in hurricanes.

Did global warming cause an increase in hurricanes during the mini ice age? Researchers studied European shipping logs to discover that inconvenient truth.

I have a question: what determines the strength/severity of hurricanes and the hurricane season? Warm equatorial waters to our south? Or the contrast between equatorial heat and cooler air systems to the north? I'm thinking of this in terms of low and high pressure air masses, does the amount of equatorial heat transfered to the poles depend in part on how warm it is at higher latitudes?

Since I live in Tornado Alley I get to see these air masses crashing together every spring and it seems to me our tornado season would diminish if the air coming down of the Rockies was warmer...or the air coming from the gulf was cooler and drier. And when the Earth's tilt is near the 21.5 degree lower limit, the equator gets even more heat while the higher latitudes get colder creating an even greater difference. What do y'all think?

hmm...hurricanes happen late in the season when the northern latitudes have warmed up while tornados are much more linked to the cooler spring air masses up north. Our late tornado season in the fall is much milder than the spring as the northern air is warmed by the ground before it hits us. It seems to me hurricanes and tornados are part of the same system, the hurricane track turns into tornado alley on land.

The debate over Global Warming seems to me a lot like the debate over Intelligent Design/Evolution. Those not believeing in the position that 95% of scientists believe, through enough money at it to hire a couple disreputable "scientists" and publicise their work until to the general public it seems to be as important as the work of hundreds or thousands of actual scientists.

It should also be noted that the Canada Free Press once cited the Onion to substantiate a claim. In other words, its junk news.

Gore's response to both critics was to smear them - Gore said these guys were just corrupt people bribed by polluters (Gore should be an expert on that) and referred to "peer reviewed" research supposedly refuting them. Al Gore is full of ****...

If you think Gore is incorrect, refute his science. Gore's response may have been a personal attack of sorts, but it seems to me he was only pointing out the motives of these particular critics. He was calling into question their objectivity. Obviously, they can't be very objective about the science if they are on the payroll of oil companies. That's not quite a personal attack in the same spirit of "ZOMFG, you are an asshat!"

Especially if Gore is true. I don't know if he is or not, but I'm just saying.

You should really think before you post Berz.

It depends on hot oceans in the tropics and sub-tropics. Cold air masses in the north will shove hurricanes one direction or another, but that's about it.
