  • Italy scored 2 goals in group play in 1982 then went on to win the best WC I've seen.

In that era, that was a personal best, so it was pretty likely they would win it.

Brazil is already qualified to the next round. They probably don't really care if they lose this game. They want to save their strength for their next big game.

If you think I didn't know that you are NOT paying much attention. They would probably prefer to win though so that there is no chance they finish second in their group and face a 1st round matchup with Italy. I would think they would rather face Ghana although that leads to a likely second round tilt with Spain

              • How was the holding of Viduka no penalty?

FIFA is so messed up. Their primary worry is players blocking a free kick and shooting after the ref. whistled yet somehow they miss to give out the order to strictly act against holding in the penalty area...

                • Braaaaazilllll 1-1

I know stats can be deceiving but consider these

                  Shots 12-4
                  Shots on Goal 7-1
                  Corner Kicks 7-1
                  Possession 62-38%

ALL in favor of Brazil-- It may be a tie game but on these stats I would think that Brazil is dominating.

Does anyone watching agree or disagree?

                  • Go Aussies!

I tried to watch it on the big projection screens at school, but both sites were showing Japan/Brazil. What insanity!

Well, now I'm home and can enjoy the second half.

I take back what I said. Brazil is kicking ass.

                        • Oh well, we got a gutsy draw against Italy at any rate. It seems we go the 2nd round ever other WC and this was our down year... though far better than 1998.
