I'd go so far as to disagree with the Arabic part . It was a system concieved of purely by the Hindus , without any outside intervention . Why they are called Hindu-Arabic numerals is beyond me .

Oerdin, I am sure you're a good guy and all. The road to hell, though, is really paved with good intentions.

A real answer , please ? It is an acknowledged fact that it was only the Hindus , and not the Arabs , who developed the system . Why , then , is the name Arabic stuck onto it ? Arabs do not deserve the credit for something they did not create .

What are you talking about? There are some good signs that the Hindus got the positional notation from the Chinese. For example, the abacus.

They have structural problems that other religions do not, which in fact Cort Haus named.

The first game of anything approaching the rules we know today as football was in a matchup between McGill and Harvard in 1874

McGill played "football" by Rugby rules, Harvard played "football" by soccer rules. The put the two together and made north american football.

Where are you getting the baseball claim?

American football in its current form grew out of a series of three games between Harvard University and McGill University of Montreal in 1874. McGill played rugby football while Harvard played the Boston Game, which was closer to soccer. As often happened in those days of far from universal rules, the teams alternated rules so that both would have a fair chance. The Harvard players liked having the opportunity to run with the ball, and in 1875 persuaded Yale University to adopt rugby rules for their annual game. In 1876 Yale, Harvard, Princeton, and Columbia formed the Intercollegiate Football Association, which used the rugby code, except for a slight difference in scoring.

He's right, it serves no purpose to put Arab there, simply misleading and a waste of letters.
