The Oilers boycotting Al MacInnis' number retirement ceremony by sitting in the locker room during the ceremony, when players like Pronger (a long-time linemate of MacInnis) are forbidden to leave. Thing is the Oilers are fighting for a playoff spot and this is the 4th last game of the season.

Legal name changes in Quebec need to be supported by a "serious reason" for the change. Marriage does not rate.

It's the difference between common law and civil law. In common law, name changes are basically at will. In civil law, name changes are at the discretion of the civil authority. Quebec happens to be a jurisdiction where the civil authority takes such a dim view of name changes that they make the hurdles ridiculously high.
