Your non-english examples have in common that both parties were successful in the past. Regarding England you just remind meBy rivalry, I'm talking about the likes of Milan v Inter, Arsenal v Spurs, Liverpool v Man Utd, Real Madrid v Barca, Rangers v Celtic.
that your squad extremely sucks at penalty kicking. When you have lack of basic skills and you never made it in the final the last decades....its not rivalry. It is envy and bitterness., and England have countless penalty shootout nightmares.
I can't say how much we would wish success IF the cocky comments would stop then. So please learn some penalty shooting IF the semi-funny WW2 comparisons are no longer used by dumb english fans (who might even think that there are a significant number of germans wishing a different WW2 outcome) or even english media.

There is no envy since Brazil has won the cup so often they dont give a **** that they lost in 98. Similarly, the Germans dont really care that they lost 88 against the Dutch or 92 against Denmark. Saw one pre-tourney poll (daily mail or so). England 40percent. Brazil just 23 percent.but the vast majority of English fans are not seriously expecting anything better than the usual QF knockout on penalties. Great kind of humour. Now that I know you dont vote seriously.

You're right that Coupet should be in for Barthez, but Vieira has to be replaced by Malouda, with Ribéry playing on the right, and then Trezeguet in for Wiltord too. (4-1-2-1-2)
Malouda is injured I think.
