Same group, different leader, as had been in power since 1974. The coup was against a leader, not ousting a whole party.
And you remember Brzezinski (or however the **** his name is spelled) taking credit for setting a Soviet trap, funding a minor reactionary uprising against laws freeing women. Yeah, that was a stellar moment on our part, helping bastards re-enslave women.
But hey, thanks for the drugs.Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...

Kuciwalker:
You forgot to show the American arrows coming in from the East from the American bases in Afghanistan, the Southwest from American bases in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia or the south from American naval assests patrolling the Persian Gulf.
It seems to me that all it would take is a shift in American priorities and an attack on Iran could be done swiftly without much of a buildup. I am not saying this is the correct move. I'm just pointing out that most of the US forces in the world are surrounding Iran right now. And to use a civ IV analogy they all have alot of experience points.Last edited by Deity Dude; June 8, 2006, 14:29.

I never said it would be a walk in the park. I never said an Iranian operation would be easier than Afghanistan, I said the terrain was easier.
All I said was that if the US shifted its priorities from killing leftover Taliban and policing Iraq, to the destruction of Iranian nuclear sites that the US is currently uniquely positioned to do so. It isn't often that just about every frigging active troop is in a country neighboring Iran or being trained to go there. Plus we have been fighting in the region for almost 5 years.
Remember, Iraq was supposedly the #5 military in the world when we fought them. Afganistan had a terrain that every foriegn invader had found impossible. Yet, the actual "wars/overthrow of the regimes" in these countries was really pretty simple. And those 2 operations were done with inexperienced troops that had to be shipped half way around the world to get their. It's been the "policing/nation building" phase that has been painful.
If the US set as its objective the eradication of Iran's nuclear capability and even a round up or forced exile of the general government and did not try to occupy or police the country afterwards, I think this could be accomplished and relatively quickly.
I realize that this would leave a vacuum in Iran and probably piss off alot of other nations. I'm just saying that if the US comes to the conclusion that a Nuclear Iran is such a security threat that it needs to be dealt with, the US could deal with it.

That's nice, destroy a country for a theoretical threat...and do tell, why would they act in such a suicidal manner? They know the consequences of the use of nuclear weapons on another nuclear power - annihilation.Speaking of Erith:
