Not really, since the scenario is that China and India are in a major dust-up.

If it were really serious, and India were getting thumped, well, the CW is about mutual assistance.

There'd be no question of sending material assistance to India. Lobbying the US would be a no lose proposition.

But that would only hold before intervention by pakistan right? After that wouldn't the CW be more or less torn? haven't there been other military conflicts between commonwealth members outside of india?

Not really. Pakistan is already on a probation of sorts.

Assuming India and Pakistan alone, the CW does nothing, except maybe Pakistan gets verbally spanked.

Assume border skirmishes with China? The CW does nothing. Nothing to do.

China and India in a knock down, drag out? The CW has to do something. Pakistan as presently constituted could suck the business end of a gun barrel. As I said, invading another CW country at this point would likely lead to Pakistan's expulsion.

Not that I can recall, except the old poison of Pakistan and India, not that my recollection is definitive.

Members of the CW are supposed to have representative governments. Countries with representative governments are not noted for going to war with each other.
