MOst Indian's are not well educated.

Compared to what? Most westerners are not highly educated either.

I don't have time to get precise figures, but down south especially, they have higher general literacy rates than a lot of western countries.

And apart from general literacy, higher education in India is nothing to sneer at.

Look at Indian films. How many are in English, how many in HIndu, Urdu, or one of the many other languages?

    Bollywood making films in Urdu.

Now that, I'd like to see.

Most indians are poor and live in villages.

    Same goes for Texas.

But India has better dancing girls.

They aren;t getting regular English classes.

    Ummm, yes. They are.

Ever tried conducting a conversation in Hindi down south?
You won't get far. The southern states tend to distrust the northerners and resist the use of Hindi. Since every state speaks a different language, and most use unique scripts, the main second language throughout southern India is, in fact, English.

Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.

                • Why go for the tortuous example when Japan had a representative government during WWII?

                  • I didn't htink it was that torturous. When the term representative govt was used I took it to mean by and large democratic, not something that the Japenese could claim.

                    • Then you might just as well reconsider how much substance there really was to the war between UK and Finland.

                      • Japan was democratic, by and large, albeit a democracy that fell under the control of an ultranationalist and imperialist military, mainly due to a lack of liberal institutions to curtail their rising influence in politics. It wasn't a liberal democracy, but it was a democracy and therefore representative, IMO.

                        • It is absolutely impossible to tell how India and China would fare against each other without knowing the location and extent of the war, or the levels of support from others. Which in turn are impossible to tell without knowing the political and diplomatic circumstances leading up to war.

The two gentlemen who are debating who would intervene on behalf of whom, without specifying the scenario that would lead up to war, are both silly.
