Let's imagine a war with conventional weaponry between the two emerging economic powers.

I think it all comes down to, on which side Belgium will end up.

Interestingly, Belgium has more than three times the exports India has. India has a long way to go until it can challenge the Belgian war machine.

        China, due to population.

Btw, you don't know that number by heart, do you?

It's hard to imagine India and China fighting an all-out war, due to the Himalaya. The most likely arenas for conflict between the two would be Central Asia and Southeast Asia, but wars in those areas would be greatly complicated by the presence and actions of other states. Trying to imagine how such a war would play out is difficult.

The challenge would be how do they get their forces at each other. You see, there is this little mountian range in the way. Because of this, the early war would be largely airiel. I don't know anything about the Indian Airforce, but Imagine that since China has been working on making theirs capable to fight the US, I'd give the nod to the Chinese.

However, once the armies were mobilised, I might give the nod to the Indians as the easiest route to each other would be through Indo-China. Dense jungle where the Indians have more experience moving and traveling. I'd give the nod to the Indians.

In the end, it would be a long and bloody stalemate....

India are Commies too, the only difference is they are more or less democratic commies.

                          China won in 1962.

I don't see a different outcome today. China has a somewhat larger population, is more technically advanced and has twice as much money.

Not since 1991 . Having to surrender our gold reserves to pay our debts taught us the lesson that socialism and communism do not work . We then liberalised economically , and are now mostly capitalist , and becoming even more as every day passes .
