  • thats all you have been doing. I'll quote myself again, try reading it this time

What you describe is a property crime and contract violation, the people who own the road have set up rules by which they allow us their use. If I want to drive under the influence, I need to build my own road.
Are you really suggesting contractual violations involve no victims?
    Property crimes involve no victims?

Now, explain why you are guilty of killing someone because you sat home drinking beer or smoking pot while someone else drank beer or smoked pot and went for a drive and killed someone.

and even when a prescription drug is used and your not supposed to be ddriving and do your guilty just likw the person who popped a few rocks on tops of the root beer cvan and smoked him a few bowls.

I took a few classes for CEU's (Continuing Education units) and one was about the proper use of prescription drugs.

What I didnt know then but do now, is say Dr Dave writes yiou a prescription for Percocet on March 20 2006. You take them, get feeling better and never finish the prescription. Say iys April 13 2007 and you pop up a couple percocet, it is illegal since they are only good for one year.

      Just sharing

It doesn't need to be transformed. Obvioulsy, some people think that the punishment for drug offenses are equivilent to the punishment of other victim crimes. So they're the ones who make up these silly arguments that drug offenses are not victim crimes. This is your argument. So you better make it good.

The title is a bit misleading though. 'Driving under influence is not a victimless crime' would be more accurate. I get the feeling "James" was speeding as well.

Perhaps reading the 1st page of the post would have been in order before berzerker got his panties in a twist.

I don't need to explain anything. Just pointing out how absurd your argument is. I don't think you're going to get those posession of cocaine sentences reduced anytime soon. Not worried.

I believe I already have. You haven't proven how Sava (to choose a random name ) smoking weed at his house and not even leaving his computer for the duration of the 'high' is a victim crime.

And indeed some drug offenses (for simply using or selling) can net you greater punishments than assault or battery.

Isn't marijuana considered a 'gateway' drug? Well, countries all over the world are decriminalizing or even legalizing the possession of small amounts of marijuana... perhaps it can be a 'gateway' drug after all, but just in a different way (ie, a legal status way) .

You are such a deserving candidate for a Darwin Award.

Yay, victimless crimes should get more punishments than violations that actually physically harm other, non-consenting people... yeah... you sure YOU are not drugs?

People don't consider drug offenses victimless crimes. They don't listen to your symantics. They look at reality.

                          • Folks

I am really sorry for an arguement ensuing on what was meant by mer to have people reflect on subsequent consequences if you partake of (alcohol &/ drugs) and then are in the act of operating a motor vehicle and hurt someone.

I was that someone this go around.

I certainly dont want to have a knock down drag out fight over what I said.

Bezerker please forgive me, I am not thinking straight because of pain and pain medicine. I again cant sleep due to severe burning feeling from tips of toes to lower/middle of back. I also feel like someone drove a 4" X 4" post starting outside my right knee cap and travelling thraight up leg, through my right buttocks and behind my spine.

Im in almost constant pain. If I came across too heavy, Im just venting. Please I ask you to not get into an arguement over this, as I am hoping someone will read this and think twice before driving.

                            Thanks in advance
