WHAT is so bad about U.S. isolationism?

Wouldn't we actually have to have ever really been isolationist to have a real basis of comparison?

Latin america would be happy if the USA leaves her alone, or if (like these days) the USA no longer pays attention to us because they have other priorities like the mid east.

I hope the USA becomes isolationist.

The developed countries evolving into service economies is the only hope that the undeveloped countries have. If the trend towards basic manufacturing jobs moving from developed to undeveloped countries stops or reverses they're screwed. We should encourage the developed countries of Europe to allow more manufactured goods from undeveloped nations into their economies. If guys like Tony Blair are serious about ending world poverty that's what they have to do. That or at least build more temples.
