Best regards,
Only if you are not after the money (which is probably worse...).

Famous actors, in the 90s (and probably in the last two decades also) would not get picked up by taxicabs in NY and other such places. I know this still occurs now. Middle age blackmen still remember getting beat by white folks (for being balck), and this still occurs in areas.
So yes, black people are still oppressed, in areas.
And if they are oppressed in areas, aren't they oppressed by the whole nation?

Calgiasta, STFU. You have no right to say that or you are white supremacist. And that's a bad thing if you don't know, because you might be an idiot not to know that. Whites can't be oppressed by definition and law of God, man and the streets.
Then again, my ass has been pumped many times and I'm kind of stupid.
You're the best Pekka.

The taxicabs don't pick them up because they tend to have bad experiences with Black men. To expect them to pick up Black men anyway is extremely unreasonable. If you were a cab driver and your experiences with Black male passengers was mostly very negative I bet you'd think twice about picking them up in future. Decent Black males only have their poorly-behaved 'bruthas' to blame when they get passed up by cabs.

It's not entirely true that whites aren't discriminated against and prejudiced in America. However, when compared to the that of blacks, well, there's very little to compare. This is why black oppression is far more serious than white oppression in the US.
What are you measuring to determine the level of oppression directed against each group?

Yeah, Sociologists have twisted semantics around to fit their political scheme. They've redefined "racist"to mean something other than its vernacular usage; a group can' be "racist" unless its group is in control of the means of power (whatever that means). A white person who hates someone because of the color of their skin is "racist", A black person who hates someone because of the color of their skin is "bigoted", but not "racist". It's an academic distinction, but I think it's a disingenuous one, and is purposefully designed to confuse lay people and push a particular agenda.

I'm talking about black people making money and then assimilating into the white culture, never to invest in the black neighborhoods that they came from.

That only goes to show that blacks need to depend on each other more. So how is that racist?

That's why I think it's a class thing, not a race thing. People tend to assimilate into the class that they're surrounded by. The racial/cultural group that dominates that class also dominates that culture. Poor urban whites assimilate into the black urban culture, because black culture dominates. Upper middle class blacks assimilate into the preppy upper middle class culture because that preppy culture dominates their class. People assimilate not because they're ashamed of their race, but because that's the environment in which their class lives.I don't see many whites donating money to poor urban whites.

They're already established. It's not like many current blakc americans remember what it was like to live in africa.
in my mind they are not part of red blue patchwork quilt called america. I don't see the mas seperate. I don't think I'd fit in immediately if I was to suddenly be moved to the projects, but then again I don't really fit in in big cities anyhoo.
And JM. Just because they are oppressed in certain areas doesn't mean that they are oppressed everywhere. At least I din't understand how that makes sense. Could you please explain what you meant.

Yeah, because Black men are rude and will probably rob the taxi driver after dropping him off.
