People are hear for no other reason but to procreate, since we are life forms, and life's only "function" is to create new life. However, our mode of procreation is very dependent upon social interaction. Human infants are born half-baked because of our brain size and they don't finish completing "normal" gestation until they are around nine months. They require enormous amounts of resources.

Going around and tryiong to impregnate everyone woman you can find is counter-productive to our mode of reproduction, since it reduces the amount of resouces which can be expended upon any individual child. This is why most societies where this shotgun method of reproduction by men is practiced generally have much shorter lifespans than those societies where couples restrict themselves to one or two children.

Those men who go around knocking up anyone they can find and walking away from their responsibilities incur a cost on the rest of society, since we have decided that we need to step in to help those children since their circumstance of birth is not their fault. This, however, means that there are less resources for our own children. These ****ers are making us take care of their babies (we are being cuckolded). Since we are cheapskates, this ends up biting us in the ass when ten+ years later these children become preditors upon society and we must then shell out up the wazoo to police and imprison them repeatedly.

If fathers are forced to take care of their own children, we are all better off. If they don't want to take care of their kids, they have a choice not to go bareback.

Babies don't take up that much resources. Women who get emotional and buy lots of things because they feel like it take up a lot of resources.

i dont know why i think it happened here the woman was using abortion as a form of birth control and the last man to get her pregnant fought to have the kid born and won.. Maybe just a fake lifetime move

That would be a society that totally sucked for the kids. It was such a bad situation that we passed laws saying that men couldn't do that any more. This was about twenty years ago.

That's kinda like saying that it's slavery to be forced to repay someone for damage you cause to their property. You may be unwilling, but it isn't slavery. It is the consequences of your actions.

What invisible friends? What torture? The only thing invisible is the soul. The only torture occurs in your life by other life, which is ultimately is the result of your own actions.

Actually when I was 18 I really helped a friend of mine who was a single mother and just had a kid. She was rather desperate for one after a few bad miscarriages.

I think you are confusing men having a choice before birth with men walking away from families.

What is the harm with fathers of unborn children being given a choice?

Sex, while a less efficient way than asexual reproduction, is more effective in the long run because variability that results ensures that the whole whole species can't be wiped out by accident.
