Oh this reminds me, I've seen knives in school before but nothing out of the normal, however, I once saw a fight with whip(!!!!!!!!), I mean this HUGE whip being used into full effect.

We had this circus, touring circus at our shool yard every year, so, the circus folks also were in the school yard, erecting the tent right? So during recess this was very interesting to kids like us, big big tent, animals, stuff like that.. fascinating.

So, there was this kid with them too about our age. I don't know if he was the son of some of them or training to be some kind of circus dude, but one of the bullies in our school thought he should pick on him because he's alone. By picking I of course meaning attacking and trying to beat him down. So we gathered to watch the epic battle, the lonely circus kid vs school bully. Either way, the result was going to be great, the circus dude going down or the bully. THe other one we didn't know so we could claim school supremacy, then again the bully we didn't like so if he was to go down, hey, even better.

So, he attacked the circus kid, and the circus kid took a small beating, nothing bad, but more humiliating. So, he started crying and cursing and getting like outraged and stuff for being humiliated like that in front of a school, so he ran in one of the caravans, got right back out with this huge **** off whip!

        ROUND 2 mofos!!!

He totally WHIPPED the bully's ass with it, he could use it too! *SNAP* *WHEPSSHHH* yeaaah!!!!

That was teh weirdest thing I've ever seen. But definitely entertaining.

And now that I think about it, I'm glad he did do that. Not only because it's good that bullies get a beating when they try to bully people, but because that was such a big deal for a kid, I mean... if you're travelling with the circus, so you're not stationary anywhere and basically you don't have friends there, and then this whole school is like watching you getting beat by the bully, you don't knwo anyone, you didn't do anything wrong.. and this happens like every year, and most likely in more schools than just ours?

I mean imagine you being beaten down by the worst bully int he school when the WHOLE school is watching, but you don't even know anyone? So there's 0 chance for any sympathy even after you get beaten. All these unknown faces.

That's just too much, it's not the beating itself, but the humiliation and that whole thing, that can traumatize a person pretty badly I figure.

SO yeah I'm glad he ran to get the whip. I reckon instead of having lots of mental problems, he tells this story with pride to his kids too some day,, how daddy whipped the bullies with a whip.

I punched a bully in his jaw once. I think I know the look on that bully's face when he literally got whipped.

Around here the NRA is a religion for some people, so I guess they should be allowed to carry Tech-9s, shotguns, and KA-47s to school? Oh wait, kids have been killed in schools by Tech-9s and shotguns, so better make that Uzis and hand grenades.

Could they require that the student use a plastuc replica of the knife?

Just out of curiosity, would the judges have allowed the student to wear this knife in the courtroom?

Here's what Canadians can do to resolve this problem: start a program in which Canadian high school students are brought into courtrooms to observe the judicial process in action. Get the judges to agree to give the class lessons, acting as teachers. Then let a Sikh student bring his knife to the court / class with him and see if the judge lets him keep it with him. If the judge refuses he's interfering with the srudent's rights. If the student is allowed to keep his weapon in court the judge is setting a precedent. Either way the nypocrisy of this decision will be exposed.

In here for some, gamblingsmokers is a religion. Can I bring my chips and smoke in the class?

Some people also are F1-fanatics. Can we please drive our cars inside the class?

                    Well, maybe just replicas?

Yeah, what if a kid is a naturalist?

Hey, what about peyote eating and smoking gunga? A kid could just happen to be a Yaqui indian or a Rastafarian.

From the bottom of the article:

The kirpan has sparked controversy not only in schools, but also in other public institutions, producing a patchwork of policies across the country.

Sikh MPs can wear kirpans in the House of Commons and visitors can wear them in the public galleries.

It's all right to wear them in the Supreme Court of Canada, but trial judges in some provinces have banned them from their courtrooms.

Most airlines once allowed passengers to wear kirpans, but in the security crackdown that followed the 9-11 terrorist attacks Transport Canada decreed a ban.

The Supreme Court judgment is confined to school situations and does not apply to other areas. "Each environment is a special case," wrote Charron.

A couple kids in my high school brought these to school regularly. They were the type that were extremely religious, and good kids at that.

I don't think you understand that schools in Canada are not a place of terror like in the US.
