What don't you understand? There are nutters everywhere. That includes the West. It's not like the Muslims and/or Third World countries have a monopoly on them.

Also, stop mixing those who have a legitimate grief wrt the West and the real nutters.

So that's why you do it.

I find it rich that UR is supporting tolerance, of religion for that matter.

No ****, Sherlock. The discussion here is about the nutters who are going off over the 12 come 120 pics.

Start another thread if you want to talk about the nutters in Denmark who are burning embassies and murdering random Muslims. Oh, wait...

Also, stop mixing those who have a legitimate grief wrt the West and the real nutters.
          God damned good advice!

This was an easy choice for the various dictatorships of the muslim world (or for the fundies who wanted to over throw the nonfundie governments of the muslim world). It allowed people to focus their anger on the foreign enemies instead of the oppressors at home, it allowed dictators who've spent decades repressing the fundies (who they rightly see as a threat to their continuing rule) to show everyone what "good" muslims they are, and best of all it cost them nothing. An easy choice all around.

            • I think it was mentioned on page 1, but no one seems to accept this.

The rioting really isn't that much about the cartoons. Rioting is an interesting phenomenon, I suggest looking at riots in the west. It really doesn't take much to spark them. Often the only thing that happes is police come to break up a party. It's basically a lot of young males venting their rage.

Yes it's true must of us posters here don't have that rage, but we really aren't a good example of the general population. We have it better than most people.

And what about the senseless protests over the world trade org. meetings? That's basically an excuse for a bunch of anarchists to go and tear **** up. I have no illusion they really care for their cause- except the cause of anarchy that is.

They are punks. Plain and simple. Punks exist everywhere in the world as this shows.

              • @ Dis.

It's really easy to start a riot when you have a (large) bunch of tightly packed, emotionally charged people. What you have is a classic positive feedback loop. Even the most level-headed persons could lose their head in such a situation.

That's why the police use things such as water canons to disperse a mob. When a crowd breaks up people start to calm down.

Well, I saw some examples of a similar rage (frothing at the mouth and all that...) a few posts back...

                    A very poignant post btw

Well, it would be a little difficult for us to have a riot together. We could of course riot individually at our computers, but then we'd just wind up destroying our own property, which would be a bummer. Those of us who have computers at work could always riot at work. I don't have a computer with decent internet at work, so good luck with that.

I also don't think there would be violent groups arising against a country where child porn is considered acceptable.

It appears that you failed to comprehend a very simple message, so I am going to make it clearer.

My previous message pointed out the inherent hypocrisy in the quoted message, which happens to be yours.

                            I hope this helps.

This is the difference between me and you. You make things up and try to pass them off as facts. You've been caught doing this many times. That's why you so rarely support you statements; you can't.

So I'll give you a chance: Please, point out the hypocrisy in the post you quoted. If you believe it to be true, you should be able to support it.
