I don't really know what to find amusing about this whole cheney hunting thing.

1) The fact that they were hunting quail? I mean is the quail particulary vicious in some amercian states or was it they were they hunting a political metaphor, being Dan.....Quail....

2) The fact that Cheney shot a lawyer. Perhaps he deserves some bravery commendation for this?

3) The fact that they white house delayed the story, i mean gun shot wound, hospital.....public liability insurance

4) The fact that the man with the quadrupple bypass doesn't have a heart attack at the sound of gunfire (why else does he go hunting with his own medical team? or does the white house lack that much confidence in his hunting abilities?)

Seems Cheney DID in fact break Texas state game law by not having an appropriate stamp. He already has a $125 no-resident hunting licence, but has just sent a $7 dollar check to get the stamp now.

Seven bucks? Dude, would that have impoverished you to get one in the first place?

Yes, he violated the rule that says you always know where you are shooting before you actually do so. What an ass. But shooting somewhat behind the group isn't necessarily wrong, it depends on the way the hunting party is organized.

I guess it's good that they covered it up for a day so it could be fresher meat for the late night comedians. Needless to say they had a field day with jokes about how his popularity is up since he shot a lawyer to it's too bad he wasn't hunting with the president.

Cheney's victim has "minor" heart attack.

Yes, the minor lawyer (not a miner) who was hit in a minor shooting accident by Dick Chaney, suffering minor wounds has had a minor heart attack, according to minor news sources today. Minor prodedures were performed on the lawyer's heart, although the pellet will be left in the heart, because the risk is, of course, minor.

Dick, who failed to have some minor authentication for his hunting license, also failed to take even minor responsibilty, blaming the lawyer for being in his way. There was a minor 24 hour delay in making the minor accident public. Minor rumors continue to swirl that Dick had consumed a number of beverages not allowed to minors. Dick did say he was sorry for the minor incident.

In case the minor lawyer dies as a result of this minor accident, a minor funeral is being planned at an undisclosed, by assuredly minor, location.

In all fairness, most hunters don't get charged when there is a shooting accident. Which is why most wifes won't go hunting with their husbands. And most husband would be too paranoid to get drunk while their wives were holding loaded weapons.

As I already said, he DID violate state law in not having an appropriate stamp. And like rah said there (unfortunately) isn't much here to charge him with. If anything he'll be slapped with a minor fine for the stamp...unless of course the guy he shot dies, which doesn't like it will happen because of his wounds but his heart attack might get him.

It's hard to give him too much abuse for the stamp, since he did have an out of state hunting license. If he didn't have that, I would be more likely to abuse him for not following the rules, but for just the stamp, I'm sure they won't make a big deal out of it. Except for the far left which really don't need any more excuses to abuse him

Dick has everything coming to him on this one. The whole thing stinks to high heaven. Under no circumstances other than the appearance of coverup should the details of the situation be relayed (giving the appearance of hoping the situation blows over)to thepress by anyone other than Cheney himself.

And I think I can be comfortably counnted as conservative (albeit no freind of this admin)
