HELP! Oerdin needs date advice (Scandinavians needed).
Yeah, the gaslamp was all built in the 19th century so there aren't any parking garages. The sole exception is a very nice mall (Horton Plaza) which was built as an urban renewal project in the very early 80's which is located in the heart of the gaslamp district. If you want to park close to where the action is they're the only option so they charge an arm and a leg. You can find places 5-10 blocks away for $10 but we were running late for our reservations and she was in high heels so I didn't want to make her walk 10 blocks.
40 bucks for PARKING?!?!?!?!? Congrats, that's like 10 bucks for a glass of water.
In da butt.

The date went really well last night. It turns out she's actually an American citizen since she was born while her parents were living in the US though she's live most of her life in Swedish Lappland. She did move to the US for college (studied biology) then moved to Malmo for two years to work as a diabetes researcher. Now she's moved to San Diego to attend law school. On another note she's actually a pretty good dancer.
Things went fairly well for a first date, she loved the Catalon Paella & Rioja, she hadn't seen to much of the gaslamp quarter (she's only been in San Diego five months) so I took her club hopping to see the place, plus we walked around by the beach and played in a fountain which randomly spurts water at people. At the end of the night we ended up in a cafe drinking tea and talking until 2:30am.
I was the one who ended the date by saying it was getting a little late and before I could tell her I had a really great time she said she loved going out with me and wanted to have a second date (Swedish women are so forward ).
Yes, I took aggies advice and let her do most of the talking. I would ask a few open ended questions and then let her go on with what ever it is she liked. I tried to be an active listener.

See... doing nothing is the only trick we have that has any hope of working.
I foresee much boinking in your future, Grasshopper.
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.
yeah but you won't get into the bed until you follow MY instructions.

What, ACE parking was buttraping ya? I don't think the parking garage across from the Borders there is THAT expensive....at least during the week, when it's a whopping $3 for 1800-0400
Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.
If I was dating you Oerdin, and you paid 40 bucks to park a car, I'd think who the **** you think you are.. I don't see no diamonds on your fingers, you're cool as hell but this is too much, almost like a sin, 40 dollars for parking space? How about 40 dollars to hungry kids or something... don't spend that kind of money on me, don't buy me stuff I don't know you yet, why don't you show me who you are, let's talk, make me laugh, let's go see a cheap show maybe comedy, maybe even open mic, drink some booze and then take me home and get me a nice rental DVD, soda and pizza so I can eat them when I wake up hung over.
You know that's like, what's up Mr. Corleone, dress to impress but don't bark when you park like a dog with money to spend on stupid stuff like that.
don't get it twisted I wouldn't date you because I'm heterosexual SC OUT!

It was Friday night in the gaslamp so prices shot way up.
Unfortunately I must take most of the blame for just pulling into the closest place instead of driving around to find something less expensive. I guess I was afraid I might come off as cheap so I just paid.
