The date went really well last night. It turns out she's actually an American citizen since she was born while her parents were living in the US though she's live most of her life in Swedish Lappland. She did move to the US for college (studied biology) then moved to Malmo for two years to work as a diabetes researcher. Now she's moved to San Diego to attend law school. On another note she's actually a pretty good dancer.

Things went fairly well for a first date, she loved the Catalon Paella & Rioja, she hadn't seen to much of the gaslamp quarter (she's only been in San Diego five months) so I took her club hopping to see the place, plus we walked around by the beach and played in a fountain which randomly spurts water at people. At the end of the night we ended up in a cafe drinking tea and talking until 2:30am.

I was the one who ended the date by saying it was getting a little late and before I could tell her I had a really great time she said she loved going out with me and wanted to have a second date (Swedish women are so forward ).

That said it was pretty expensive. She insisted on paying for half of dinner and she even insisted on buying a couple of rounds (again women's liberation and Swedish equality showing) but I rightly paid for most things. We didn't drink much but each drink downtown is fairly expensive and since we jumped around to several dance clubs the cover charges raped me. I think with parking ($40!!!), dinner, drinks, cover charges I must have spent at least $200.

I think the next date will be doing something less expensive.
