I would think Wilson would have responded the same way if Britain had criticised the entry of the US, and refused to assist in the defence of France.
I doubt it. He says we'll make the sacrifice willingly, but doesn't say we expect others to make it as well. Recall that none of Wilson's allies 'signed on' to his plan after WW1.
If we are willing to make the sacrifice, why call out others who may not be willing to? That's calling attention to your own sacrifice, pandering for others to take up the burden, which is not what Wilson was saying at all.
