That's because PC was dragged down to that level in the first place. PC was about not calling someone 'racist, sexist, or otherwise demeaning term. Political correctness was about trying to live your life in a way that affirmed the self-worth of others, a laudible goal.

In fact, the whol "metablism challenged" thing isn't so much a means of trying to make fat people feel better about themselves as it is a way of saying that no one has a right to protest what others call you. "metablism chalanged" is a mockery of PCism, not serious PCism.

You are quite right. The true meaning of PC has been destroyed by insanites suchas the "jew cake", but also beccause some political parties has adobted it an are using it as a stamp on which political views that are "acceptable". Locally several leftish parties has tried to use it to gain the moral high ground and it actually pisses off common people.

Political correctness was hijacked by the hyper-relativists and the "West is evil" ideolouges. Being against truely derogotory comments like "n*gger, rag-head, etc. is one thing, preventing legitimate criticism and debate out of fear of causing offence or fear of being "anti-multiculturalism" is quite another.

Thats something I can to a certain degree agree with, however it does in no way justify the reactions we are seeing today. I think Danmark should declare war on Syria as of this moment. Things like burning down ebassies are just not something to be tolerated. Syria needs a lesson in diplomatics.

laurentius, I don't wish to see that, I think they should remain tough but still calm. You know the correct thing might be to declare war but I don't see it coming to that in reality, a real war, so I think that's a waste of time, resources and emotions. They should, however, make it very clear to the governments that unless they commit themselves to really work this out, there will be serious consequences, I'm talking about taking it to UN next, and after that, possibly NATO. From there, we can do boycotting.
