This kid is only 2 years older than Phaneuf, and has worse stats. A stupid decision, IMO.

Bouwmeester: 22 years old, 0G (0 on the PP), 27A (12 on the PP), -6, 0 GWG

Phaneuf: 20 years old, 12G (11 on the PP), 22A (15 on the PP), +3, 5 GWG

Right. But when you say hockey is disney, I find that kind of weird, since it's played by girls, and the rules are girlie compared to real hockey.

If you throw the word hockey around, most people will know what it means, and they won't relate it to girlie field hockey first. It's like 'Aaah you mean the one where they run and it's this weird girl game?' .. 'yes that's the one, except that it's not a girlie game, it's a sissie girlie game'.

Well thank god Jovanovski is injured. McCabe is far better, also much better than Phaneuf (who knows whether the kid can handle any pressure).

The idea of having one of the top scoring D-man on the Taxi squad was just crazy.

You have to be kidding me! McCabe will be slow as hell, and with the bigger ice surface in the Olympics he'll just be even worse.

Neither McCabe nor Jovo should've been on the team. Phaneuf would be perfect. We don't need "offensive defensemen", we've got a really frickin' potent offensive side, and our defensive side is plagued with liabilities like McCabe. He also has a proven history of taking inopportune penalties.

McCabe was a terrible pick for the team, just like Quinn was a terrible pick as the coach. If we win, it will be inspite of McCabe and Quinn, not because of them.

Phaneuf throws more hits, Phaneuf is faster, Phaneuf is smarter defensively, Phaneuf doesn't take stupid penalties at the worst times.

McCabe is simply an offensive defensemen -- great for pools like Poly's NHL where I had him the whole season (to get me G and A and PPP), but in terms of defense on a huge international ice surface...god no. He'll be riding the pine except on the PowerPlay I'd expect, if Quinn is smart at all.

McCabe is one of the league's top defencemen, which you would admit if he played for any other team.

In all the years with the Leafs, he's always been on the plus side of +/-.

The idea that McCabe doesn't know how to play D is just stupid. Same with the idea that he's slow.

McCabe at his prime. He's experienced and he can handle the pressure.

Phaneuf could become a great d-man. He's got potential. But he has yet to prove whether he can go the distance in the NHL. We've all seen guys who have started off great, and gone on to better things. And then there are those flash in pans.
