In the stats we discussed, Phaneuf has more shots on net than McCabe does in the NHL this season.

Phaneuf averages 2.8 shots per game in the NHL.

McCabe is an offensive defenceman who benefits greatly when paird with someone like Kaberle who is a great setup guy. Without that, he's just bad.

Im not digging on the rules of this international hockey. Caught the last few minutes of Finland vs Canada (womens) 1st period, wtf was up with that interference call? The rules overall seem way too constraining, leading to 18 minutes of PP, 4 on 4, 5 on 3 etc and maybe 2 minutes of 5 on 5 hockey per period. Its like hockey lite or something.

True, it's nto even hockey. Most of the times when ref blew the whistle, no one knew why. That's kind of a bad sign, uncluding when even commentators don't know what happened

McCabe is taking dumb penalties, making dumb defensive mistakes (ie, the assist he gave in the first game), and has dumb defensive positioning (ie, his positioning after leaving the box after his dumb penalty last game, leading to a goal). He's -2, and both of those goals against are directly related to McCabe f*cking it up.

Bull. The German was charging down the boards with his head down. All McCabe did was move into the board and check the German.

It's a perfectly clean hit.

You're the first person I've heard that questioned the call.

It was an illegal hit in the Olympics, period.

You guys obviously just think this is par for the course. A dumb penalty is one that is pointless and not needed.

That was a classic example of a dumb penalty, holding someone when they weren't a threat and giving them a howerplay. For what it's worth, his penalty did result in a goal against as a result of his subsequent stupid defensive positioning.

Once our friends in Toronto understand some of these basics of hockey, they'll stand a chance of winning Lord Stanley's cup.

That's something. Interesting. Maybe they can get some points off Canada and we'll win the Group A? Nah... it's nice to have some upsets, I mean even if it's 'they were leading going into the third' type of upsets. Mixing it up. You know.. Canada will wake up for sure.
