LoA, I think in hockey, US vs Russia is bigger rivalry, they some how are able to bring those old Cold War rhetorics in it, even if no one says anything.

I'd rather avoid the Rooskies until the last minute. Too unpredictable they are. I can be an easy game, or it can be an impossible game.

Nope see my earlier post-- 1st place in the pool CANNOT meet the other first place until the final. If everything went by the earlier pool placings a first place team plays the second place team from the OTHER pool in the semis. From those two basic rules you can extrapolate all the matchups.

Ok, but this would mean Finland - Sweden and Russia - Slovakia in the semi? Right? And therefore it could still be Russia - Finland in the final. That´s how I interpret the post above.

Canada-Russia A3 vs B2

is a bracket and only one of them will make the final-- Finland must play either Canada or Russia if Finland is in the semis

True dat.. that's quite literally the elimination bracket.. deserving teams, all of them. Except US for now, but they still have a realistic shot, if they just get fired up, they have it on paper. Transform the idea to the ice, it could be devastating.

It really is amazing to me, all of the Toronto fans defending McCabe. Look: McCabe is a Calgarian, I don't have anything against him personally.

The simple fact is he's a defensive liability, a lumbering bufoon that takes penalties because he can't skate to keep up. He was a terrible pick for Team Canada.

His record worsened today to a team-worst -3 with 18 (!) PIM. All he's doing is coughing up the puck and giving up powerplays. It's time the folks in Toronto wake up -- he's got a great shot, but there are about 20 other people on Team Canada with a great shot. McCabe looks really good and gets decent stats with Toronto because the team is just that bad. With Canada, he's the worst player and the stats show that.

What's even more pathetic is Robyn Regehr - the definition of "stay at home defenceman", has the same amount of shots as McCabe, and a point to show for it.
