Well, we managed not to get our worst defeat of all time, that's still last year's 1:9 .

Actually, that's some seriously nice playing by the Russians, they stand in a position to win everything in 3-4 years, certainly the 2010 games. And well, it did show that the young Latvian players aren't quite at the level of the old players who have now retired.

Watching the game, he's been on the PowerPlay quite a bit. He's still got 2 shots across all of Canada's games, so he should be getting less PowerPlay time seeing as how sh*t he has been.

Canada is sorely needing Phaneuf on this team.

Impressive all the way. The Swede's never really had any chance to pull an upset as they did against the Americans. Canada's D was too tight and but for stellar goaltending the Canadian offense could have potted a LOT of goals

At least the Swedish goal was fun to watch. 7 passes back and forth behind the goal, then a quick pass to a back by the blue line and slam-dunk!

Silver is better than expected for the Swedish ladies team, so I think they're all satisfied. Canada was the only team that beat them.

True and Swedish team is to be congratulated. I think this was the first time that the Americans lost to anyone other than the Canadians.

I fully hope that the Swedes will be even stronger in 2010. While winning a gold is fun, its even better if there are a number of strong teams and not just one main rival.

Canada is looking good for 2010. After a 0-0 tie and shootout loss at last years worlds, they reloaded their offence with a few younger enthusiatic players.

Too bad Canada's men's team didn't do the same-- I am so wishing that Crosbie Stall, Spezza were up front and we have Phaneuf and Boyle actually playing on D . .. Oh well its water under the bridge. I'm sure all the teams had selection issues . . . So for better or for worse --- Go Canada

( I never give up on the men's chance for gold until they are actually eliminated-- All thats happened so far is Canada won't get the perceived weakest Quarter final Opponent-- I don't care if they win against the Czechs tomorrow-- its far more important that they just start getting their game untracked --If they don't start playing better, their playoff run will last one game)
