Damn, just our luck that Denis has an incredibly rare hot night.

Iginla got a frickin PENALTY seconds into OTfor being pushed by Foote into the goaltender.
That should have been a penalty shot for Iginla, NOT a penalty against him! He was infront of all the defensemen...

The Flames have been in a string of bad luck the past couple weeks. I don't think they've been playing particularly poorly.
They outplayed Columbus today again, but Denis stopped sucking just for one night to be 1-37. Kipper was good at 1-20, but he's just not that great in shootouts.
Shows you just how much he depends on the Calgary D, if anything.

The Calgary Flames have traded centre Steven Reinprecht and backup goaltender Philippe Sauve to Phoenix in exchange for goaltender Brian Boucher and left wing Mike Leclerc.
Leclerc played in 35 games with the Coyotes this season posting 21 points (9 goals, 12 assists) and 29 penalty minutes. The 6’2” 208 lbs. left winger has posted 153 points (63 goals, 90 assists) and 280 penalty minutes in 326 NHL career games with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the Coyotes.
The 29 year-old native of Winnipeg, MB was drafted in the third round, 55th overall, by the Mighty Ducks in the 1995 Entry Draft.
Boucher played in 11 games with the Coyotes this season posting A 3-6-0 record with a 3.87 GAA. The 6’2” 198 lbs. goaltender has a 74-83-30 record with 12 shut-outs and a 2.71 in 199 NHL career games with the Philadelphia Flyers and the Coyotes. The 29 year-old native of Woonsocket, RI was drafted in the first round, 22nd overall, by the Flyers in the 1995 Entry Draft.

Kind of scratching my head at this one. Reinprecht produced more points than Leclerc so far this season...but Leclerc is a more physical player than Reinprecht.
Boucher is no doubt an upgrade over Sauve...
The rumour mill is loud as over now about Jokinen. They're citing this move as one to make room for Jokinen, by moving a center out...

One more goal against, again...
The theme in Calgary seems to be Just Lose, Baby.

Come on, though. You get a great performance from Markkanen and you still can't beat Columbus -- and this is after Columbus played back to back games and were very tired from last night against Calgary.
Funny game, though. Columbus even gave you ample powerplays, they gave Calgary only one.

That strikes me as incredibly low class on Sutter's part.
Not to mention incredibly stupid when he just motivated a goalie he just traded within conference.
Karma will have Suave stand on his head and deny something important to the Flames sometime soon.

We'll see, I doubt it. He's not going to play any important games for Phoenix...
Phoenix isn't a threat to Calgary.

As a coach of a team where I wanted players to step up and be tough, I certainly wouldn't be dumping on a goalie who went to the defence of a team mate.
That's just plain strange.

The reason why Kipper gets record numbers of starts is Sutter had little to no confidence in Sauve.
Sauve didn't do it as much as to the defence of a team mate, but for revenge against Aebischer (who he used to back up, and they did not get along) and to release his frustration of having a terrible game.
