liberals: we need to tax those rich bastards buying yachts. we'll hit 'em with a "luxury" tax
Out-of-work yacht builders: rich people aren't buying as many yachts and we are losing jobs
liberals: we need an exemption to the luxury tax for rich bastards who buy yachts from our area

California Sierra Club: we need to increase the state's minimum wage
Oh, but we need an exemption from the increase or we will have to lay people off

Americans don't build yachts.
They are built in foreign countries and purchased there by Americans, who then leave them there...for I think it's six months...before they are brought into the US, so no sales tax is due.
Berzerker = the guy taking up the slack for rich people's tax avoidance.

Oh, but we won't make the rich pay for it...no, we'll give them a tax cut. And hey, let's take more of the burden off of them by eliminating the Estate Tax.

I originally seen it in the local newspaper a few months back. Online, I found it here: http://www.geocities.com/dollarbear2...8_image003.gif"In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. Here's another from MSNBC with a projection."In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed. It's a shame that all this attention on foreign events is pulling US gov't spending away from the home front. While I was living in the US it seemed like there was so much that needed to be done. Schools were being closed, transportation systems were falling apart, many of my friends couldn't afford proper medical insurance or care etc, etc... Instead, the US tries to over-extend itself on the foreign front and further take money away from the people at home who need it the most. It's all the more disappointing since the US seems to have so much money to spend, and so much could be done.
